Total n00b here.
Current set up:
- Slimline 5-LNB dish
- 1 HR20-100
- 1 Hughes HDVR2
- 1 SD RCA receiver
I just ordered the International pkg that required the installation of an additional 36" dish.
The man is coming out this week, so I'm wondering what should I be expecting when everything is set up and done?
I'm not so sure what the set up will be, whether he will run new lines, etc.
How many lines will be coming out of this new receiver?
There shouldn't be any new lines run to the receivers right?
They'll just go to the multi-switch (4 X ???) from the slimline 5-LNB dish, or will I get a new one?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!A WB68 should be installed with 1 big dish no additional receivers. No new linws should be installed to your receivers the WB68 will maka all signals available to all receivers.

No new lines to the receivers, but new lines will need to be run from the new dish to the multiswitch (wherever it might be.) So, four lines from slimline to switch and two lines from international dish to switch (for 95W & 101W.) The multiswitch will combine the international satellite onto the existing receiver feeds.

dsw2112, thanks for that.
I'm not sure the type of multi-switch that came "built-in" with the slimline, but I think it's a 4x6?
I forgot to mention that I also have an OTA antenna, however it was a completely new line that ran straight into the HR10-250 that I used to own.
So my guess is that I'll get a new multi-switch as boba mentioned, which is a 6x8 to accommodate the 2 new lines coming from the new dish?
Someone with more experience with these older rcvrs will need to confirm that these:
- 1 Hughes HDVR2
- 1 SD RCA receiver
can actually see the 95 through a 6x8

I'm counting 5 tuners (2 dvr's & 1 standard) so you should have an external multiswitch hooked up already (unless you are not utilizing the dual tuners on the dvr's.) In any case D* will install a 6X8 multiswitch if you do not currently have one (the LNB multiswitch would not work for international.)

These receivers should work just fine.

I think in this case it is only one line from the international dish's (model# DTV66E) linear polarized FSS LNB pointed at Galaxy 3C to the 95 degree flexport input on the multiswitch. The 101 is already being supplied by the SlimLine dish.

I have an old RCA DRD430RG SD receiver.
Is that going to work?

Correct. Most installers don't even install the 101 LNB on the World Direct dish if it will be used with a Slimline; only the FSS linear "international" LNB is needed, and only one line from the LNB to one of the Flexports on the 6x8 switch.

Yup you're right, didn't pay enough attention to what the main dish was...

I have an old RCA DRD430RG SD receiver.

I do not beleive so, if the reciever is incompatible the tech can order a swap for a new reciever. at the very least we can usually get one shipped to you. requires about 15 - 30 min on the phone
