View Full Version : New receiver - dud?
New H21-200 "bought" mail order from a reputable source, connected up and failed 103 (all transponders n/a) - menu didn't even recognise existence of 99. Moved to different outlet, same result. Changed BBC with another new one, now it sees 99 but zeros on all transponders, still fails 103. Is the box itself the issue and if so, what do I do (not yet activated)?

Have you forced a software download? Do a RBR, and when the HELLO screen appears punch "02468" on the remote. When it finishes the download, do a RBR again, and you should be all set.

Doing it right now, I'll let you know the outcome.
Have you put it at a known good outlet? If not, move it to where you have a good working receiver now and try it there. If same problem there, (and you have done reset and software load), then it may well be a bad receiver.
Unit was tried on two new, but tested, outlets. Software download did the trick. What was apparently going on was that the receiver software predated the Slimline dish - when I first set it up, I selected '5 LNB' (Slimline wasn't an option). After the software was downloaded, it figured out that I had a Slimline 5 with 6x8 switch and all is now well. One to put in the "lessons learned" book. Thanks for the responses.
