Heres the story, I have a 6x8 currently with 1 standard reciever, 3 HD Dvrs and 1 SD DVR...however, the SD DVR is in a room with only 1 coax so the 8 outputs are fine. That said I am in the process of finishing my basement and will be adding many new coax runs to serve the basement. All my wiring is home run to a box in the basement, that has network and security wiring too. Its too full so I will be moving all my TV stuff to a different box. Was thinking since I am doing this now would it be worth (and would they even do it) to have D* come out and set me up with the 2 6x8 setup since technically I have 9 tuners...I dont plan on doing a 2nd coax run to the bedroom that has the SD DVR but technically I could move this somehwere else that has 2 coax runs and thus I would need the 2nd 6x8...should I try it now or just wait until I acquire one or two other DVRs (for the basement) probably a year from now?

DirecTV will charge for this type of change. Why not do it yourself?
Get 4 high frequency splitters and another WB68. Then connect your dish to the four splitters. Connect the outputs from the splitters to the same labeled inputs on the 2 WB68s. Now you have 16 outputs.

Really? They will charge for this? For the equipment or install? They didnt charge me when they put the 6x8 in. Why would they charge for necessary equipment to run their leased recievers? If I waited until I got another DVR wouldnt they come out with the DVR and all the needed equipment to run all the receivers

If you wait until you order additional receivers, they won't charge you. If you want them to provide equipment that you don't currently need today to run the receivers you have, they will charge you. Since you previously signed off on a 1-tuner configuration of the DVR, you're covered with your current 6x8.

DirecTV does not "pre-wire" or "prepare for future expansion" for free; you only get what you need to make your active receivers work, unless you pay extra.

Battlezone, I have a thrid bedroom that does have dual coax. If I move my DVR to that room I would need/want the extra 6x8...how would they handle that?

Since you signed-off on the original install for that DVR with only one tuner, then D* will charge you to change anything. I'll second JDSpencer's suggestion of adding the splitters and second WB68 yourself. Or, if you're up to it, add splitters and a SWM8. That will be slightly more expensive, but may give you more flexibility in wiring.

You'll be charged for a receiver relocate, and *may* be charged for the switch as well. Again, you've already signed off on your existing install, so you aren't owed anything further. DirecTV will provide the switch for free if you add additional receivers, but other than that, you're on your own.

Can anyone direct me to a site that sells the correct 4 splitters needed to do this. I can find all kinds of package deals with 2 6x8 and the splitters but since I already have a 6x8 I just want to buy the splitters and 1 6x8..I cant seem to locate the correct splitters

Try THIS ONE (http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?mc=02&p=SP2HFA&d=2-Way-High-Frequency-Satellite-Splitter-(All-Port-Passive)&c=Satellite Splitters&sku=PV22-103)from Solid Signal.

This is one example, but you can likely buy idential splitters (5-2300 MHz-rated, power passing on either one side only or both sides; either will work) in the phone/TV/network isle at Home Depot or Lowes if you're in a hurry.
