I have a 612 and I can't figure out how to hide the window in the DVR and other menus that shows what's being recorded. It's really annoying to see the middle of what's being recorded while selecting recorded programs in the DVR menu. Am I missing something or is it just not possible?

I second this for two reasons. First, it is annoying to turn the TV on and see what you are recording live on the screen - and to top it off you can't pause while in the menus so you have to attempt to quickly navigate and get rid of the video.

Second, and most important... There are times when we turn the TV on with the kids in the room to watch a show. Many times the live video is inappropriate for kids. I watched boxing on Showtime the other night. Later that night we turned the TV on and the some show with nudity was on. The system was on a menu with video playing. With our "old" DVR we could just hit a button and be at the main menu with no video/audio. With this one there doesn't seem to be a quick way to stop the video.

No, it is not currently possible.

You can eliminate the live window in the guide display (menu, preferences, guide display, select a guide without video). At least if something appears on the screen you don't want displayed, you can push the guide button.

Thanks for the confirmation. Maybe they will give us some more control in the future.

I found a way to prevent the graphic content from displaying in the event children are in the room when you switch on the TV/DVR. I enabled locks and locked the system down tight. We now have to enter our code anytime we want to do anything, but the video shows a black screen in the menus now.
