iPhone D* app won't open

I just got an iPhone 3GS on ebay and surprisingly the D* app and SuperFan were already loaded on there. Please note I am a complete iPhone novice, with all these apps, settings, iTunes sync'g, etc.

SuperFan works fine, but when I select the D* app the logo flashes and appears for less than a second (kinda like the initial splash screen?) and then it goes back to the main iPhone screen. :confused:

I tried removing the app, then reloading with the same results.

Please help!

I think that you might have some luck removing and reinstalling the application.

If not... is the phone "jailbroken?" I'm not accusing you of anything, but jailbroken phones may have some problem with this app.

Since you bought it on eBay I would strongly suggest you do a complete reload of the software and set it up as a new phone. My D* app works fine (and my phone is jailbroken).

I would recommend performing a full reset of the phone considering you just purchased it from eBay. It could have applications, settings, profiles, etc that are not desirable since you don't know the previous owner.

To do this... Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings... or you can hook it to iTunes and click "Restore Phone"... and then set it up as a new phone as TBlazer recommended... (i.e. don't restore from a backup).

After that, try reloading the app.

Thanks for the help! I removed the app from the phone (not via iTunes like I initially tried), then reloaded and it works now.

I will do the full reset too once I get home.
