Has anyone seen video of Randall Simon's attack on the Italian sausage at Miller Park last night? I haven't seen it anywhere yet.

What was he thinking? Was it supposed to be a joke? Was he dissed by a sausage?

I saw the video. Simon was standing at the top of the dugout. He reaches out at her with the bat and swats her on the back of her head/shoulders as she passes by. The Insultan of Swat knocked the woman down. As she fell she took the "hot dog" down with her. Who knows what Simon was thinking? Pretty stupid move.
I hope MLB does more than just give him a slap on the wrist but than again...this is MLB we're talking about.

I thought it was sort of funny, in a way. Stupid move by the player, but come on now, no one had more than cuts and scrapes, why the hell would you arrest the guy?

A bat can be considered a deadly weapon especially when not used to hit a ball. An Adult should know better. They may be making an example of him, maybe they should?

Typical baseball player horseplay that went over the line. Bad choice on his part and he should suffer the consequences... especially in this era of fans getting on the filed and beating on players.

However it does add new meaning to "beating your sausage"! :)

Nah, they shouldn't make an example of him. Everyone does some stupid crap from time to time. All reports indicate that it was "terribly obvious that this guy was not trying to hurt someone" (espn radio guy), and in fact, no one was really hurt except for scrapes. I have no problem in major league baseball does something to him, but to arrest him and take him away in hand cuffs? Come on now, that is ridiculous.

Still, what was that guy thinking.

I am sure he wasn't trying to hurt the woman. Simon says (pun intended) that he was playing and
"trying to get her to finish the race." Huh? She would have done just fine without his "help."
The maximum punishment for this is a fine $ 400 + according to the Milwaukee Sheriff.

Ahhh, it wasn't THAT bad. If you've seen the video, it's hard to believe that he didnt' hit her on purpose, but he certainly didn't hit her very hard and didn't hit her head itself at all. Dumb? Yes. But horrible? I doubt it.
