View Full Version : Fine tunning DP 500 plus with DP 34 switch
My dilema is that I am receiving 119 on 110 feed; I am refering to DP 500 plus installation with 119/118 Dual LNB and 110 single LNB. I am supposed to get 119 feed on port 1 of Dual LNB instead I am getting it on 110 single LNB. The peak meter is installed on dual lnb port 1 for 119 feed. Question is whether a) dual lnb is defective; b) skew angle is not right; c) DP 34 switch is defective; d) receiver cannot handle the load or need software upgrade.
Your advice will be appreciated.

JMSKThe odds are that you don't have the dish aimed right, call a local installer seeing DISH dosen't serve Canada.:)

The "F" port is for the FFS sat 118.7*, the "D" port is for the DBS sat 119* (I can't remember off the top of my head if it's "F1" &"D2", or "D1" & "F2".), and the DP Single is for the 110*. You want to use 119* (or the "D" port) to peak in the dish. Having that connected directly to the rec through your meter (if your meter can't power the LNB itself) Once you have the dish peaked you can connect everything to the sw34. Typically 119* is on port 1, 110* port 2, and the FSS sat 118.7* is on 3. After running a switch test or Check Switch on the receiver you should be god to go. FYI the set up angles for northern Vermont will work for you.
Hi Scoobyxj,
Thank you; you are right on, it's 2D for 119 & 1F for FSS. Quick check by bypassing sw34 indicates that I have no sat feed on 119. Back to the drawing board, so to speak, on the roof in my case. Will report the outcome.
Thanks for the hint.

Sad to report that going directly to the receiver from sat feed 119 (dual LNB) with the in-line peak meter & by-passing sw 34, did not achieve much. Still havn't got the 119 feed out of dual lnb. This 500 plus sat antenna is definately challanging. I scoured the entire western hemisphere and am totally disgusted with the whole thing. Running out of ideas to try; will try anything to get it going. Will appreciate any suggestion. It seems I am overlooking something quite obvious, something basic and simple. Followed the instructions to the letter.

Hello everyone,
Happy to report that the problem is solved. Thanks everybody who tried to help; it was the wrong elevation angle. Once corrected everything fell into place. I had to bypass the swich (SW34) to be able to peak 119.
Best site; glad I came here for help.
