Hi Everyone,

My area was hit with some nasty thunderstorms last weekend. Power was out for some until this morning, trees were destroyed, etc.

Included in the damage was my local CBS affiliate, WIFR. Their tower collapsed during the storm:

Question is, has anyone ever been granted a waiver (even if temporary) for a distant network signal due to a weather disaster like this? I would hate to go six months without CBS, and cable is definitely out of the question.

What do you think?

Thanks,
-Wally

Damn Teenagers!

They'll put their TV feed on Cable and Satellite. I bet you don't get the waiver.

Same thing happened to me. Fox station owned by SINclair broadcasting.

They had a landline feed to several cable systems within hours.

They REFUSED to return my phone calls.

They REFUSED to grant a waiver.

DirecTV REFUSED to just turn on the signals (since the station did not broadcast, it did not exist, it had no SHVIA rights and DirecTV could have just turned on the signal).

I contacted a higher form of life at DirecTV. They told me they didn't care.

I contacted the Fox network. They told me they didn't care.

I filed a complaint with the FCC.

The FCC did nothing. Not even a form letter.

I think if they deny your waver you can request a signal test. With no signal on the air, im sure you'll pass :)

With over 6 BILLION people on the planet, who has the time to care anymore?
