I recently noticed an issue on one of my non-HD DVR's. It is an r15-300 unit. The affected recordings were on "BrainSurge" on Nick and "Man vs Food" on Travel channel. The shows are recording/playing back ok...but these :30 minute shows are recording lengths of 4 hours and change, 7 hours and change and one was 15 hrs long! There is content there but the ffwd/jump features seem to be disabled on the recordings.

I'm usually over in the HD DVR forum and my kids are the only ones who use the non-HD DVR's so I normally don't play with those receivers. The issue seems to have cropped up in the last week or so as these super long recordings caused all of my son's recordings to delete until I noticed the issue.

I reset the receiver to start from scratch so I'll have to see if that "fixes" the issue or if it continues.

Anyone have an issue like this crop up?

You are getting the runaway recording, which has been popping up recently on the HD-DVRs and the recent NR of the R15 as well. The biggest way to protect yourself from it is to mark your recording as KUID (Keep Until I Delete) in the PlayList. This will prevent a runaway recording from automatically deleting items in your PlayList. Hopefully, the next NR will correct the problem. It appears that the issue has been resolved on the HD-DVRs.

Try doing the following. Both seem to have solved this for most, including me:

Go into Menu ->Parental Favs & Setup -> System Setup -> Reset ->Reset Defaults.

Or

Menu -> Manage Recordings -> Rec. Defaults -> Set Defaults
