Is This Normal (DirecTV2PC)?

I tried to use DirecTV2PC on Saturday night and after loading the playlist, I selected a program to play and it would wait for about 20 seconds then tell me that the selected program could not be played back because it could not connect to the DVR (paraphrased). I gave up for the nght and tried again Sunday morning. Same result. I re-booted both DVRs and the problem went away. Easy solution, but is this normal behavior?

A couple of reboots can work wonders.
I'm not surprised at all with your experience.
Around here power fluctuations are common so having the DVRs & SWM on a UPS is required, otherwise all bets are off on DVR response.

If your equipment is not already on a UPS then I highly recommend that you get one (or more as required).
Take an unknown out of the equation for troubleshooting, and, ensure that your recordings happen.

Oh, I've got everything on a UPS. The hamster on the wheel at our local power company got tired pretty often. They're under new management and so far its much better. Nevertheless, I've got UPS everywhere!

Had same issue with my HR20. Other HR21 and two HR22 were okay. Took two reboots on HR20 before finally started working right.
