Today, July 13 was the supposed cutoff date for FX. I guess since it's still on, they reached an agreement.

They either reached an agreement or they're close enough that Fox has said they can keep showing it. It's not really in the best interest of either party to let it lapse completely.

It's all negotiations. Add in the fact that Rupert needs to show Congress that he can play well with others and this channel is going nowhere soon. Unless they are just dumb, in which case E* can scream LOUDLY about how they are using their monopoly power already to "withhold" programming.
