View Full Version : Where did my drives go?

Sorry for all the questions, but now I am missing drives. Specifically Drive D: which is my DVD burner and 4 other drives which are memory card readers.

What is weird is that when I click on computer, Drive D: shows up in the main pane, but not off to the right. And when I do a drive properties, it shows all the drives there.

Why are they not in the pane to the right?

This pic should show what I am talking about.

Thanks again folks.

I think if you put a disk in drive D: it will show up. I believe there is an option somewhere to control whether or not it shows all the time.

Go into Windows Explorer and then choose Organize -> Folder and search options -> View, and then uncheck the setting for "Hide empty drives in the Computer folder".

Yep. Normally empty memory card drives do not show up.

You guys are geniuses.:) Thanks so much.

Yep. Normally empty memory card drives do not show up.

They always did in Vista and XP, hence my confusion. I really like some aspects of WIN 7, but some of these tweaks "drive" me nuts.

Thanks again.
