DVD in Canada

If I make a DVD (Regular, not Blu-Ray) for a friend in Canada, will he be able to play it in his DVD player (And will it actually appear right on his TV)?

Should be fine. The US, Candada and some territories are all Region 1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code

So as long as he has a region 1 (or region free) player, he shouldn't have a problem.
