Anyone know what package this channel, Fox College Sports, is in?

Is it still active (it's no longer listed in the guide)? It seems to be a part-time channel at the most.

There's a football game airing on FCS this weekend, I'd like to catch.

There's a football game airing on FCS this weekend, I'd like to catch. Its in the Sports Pack and in the guide. Although I don't see any games listed on that channel. I think that channel is mainly for cable co's and rarely used by D*. Most of the games on D* are carried on the Fox RSN's. What game are you looking for. Seeing you are in Wash St, I'll guess its the UCLA game, which is on 694 if you have the sports pack.

I was at my parents' house in Harrisburg, PA, on October 24. The channel was live and was showing some Big 12 game in the middle of the afternoon. They do not have the Sports Pack or ESPN Gameplan College Football package. They just have regular programing, but the game was coming through loud and clear.

I have not seen anything since on that channel on my own tv.

Fox College Sports is actually three networks (FCS Atlantic, FCS Central, and FCS Pacific) for cable providers. Most of the programming is a mixture of what is available regionally on the various Fox Sports Nets. It is also used as overflow when an FSN network wants to show two games at once. In those cases, DirecTV puts the overflow game on channel 617. The packaging likely varies depending on the game, i.e. if you're in the region the game is intended for, it will come as part of the regular package, but if you're not in the region you'll need Sports Pack.

The game I'm looking for is WSU at Arizona, on FCS Atlantic at 3:30est. (LIVE -- there are replays on other FSN* channels later in the day)

The guide doesn't show anything for this weekend?

I did notice that MSG 634 is showing PAc 10 game TBA ...maybe that is where it is at .... plus hard to imagine FS Arizona is not showing that game...

The guide doesn't show anything for this weekend?IT doesn't look good for you to see the game live. As I mentioned, the 3 FCS channels are mainly carried by the cable co's. If you go to the FCS page on the FSN website [Link (http://msn.foxsports.com/fcs)], you can type in your zip code and check. For D* it says good news, you should be able to see the games on one of the FSN channels. If you select cable, it will tell you the channel its on. In my area, it says available on ch 180 FCS Atlantic.

A lot of times they don't add the FCS games to the program guide until Friday. It's still possible, but never for certain. Oh, and did anyone find it odd that it's going to be on FCS Atlantic of all the possible FCSs?

You have a good point. Washington @ UCLA is a regional game, so the folks watching FSN Northwest can see the Oregon/Stanford game too. Although, it looks like even some FSN Northwest viewers will get the Oregon/Stanford game instead.

They now show the Washington State @ Arizona game on FCS 623 (SD) at 2:30 PM CT.

Because there is no content of value on these.

It works this way. DirecTV has all of the RSNs around the country. So, if you get the sports pack, you get 100s of extra college games.

Cable has far less bandwidth. It only has the RSNs that are for your local area. So it has the three FCS channels, which glean a sampler of the games from the RSNs. 99% of the material on FCS is already on an RSN and thus in the sports pack.

On occasion, FCS will have an "exclusive" game, which is to say a game produced with FCS graphics and only appearing on FCS, not any RSN. On those rare occasions, DirecTV shows FCS on 617. For example, today, the Southland women's soccer final will be ONLY on FCS and FCS will be on DirecTV at 2 PM today.

Having these channels on full time would be a waste of bandwidth.
