Should get my disc tomorrow. I'll give some feedback once I get it set up. I already have the Roku player so I can give some comparisons.

I requested for the disc. I'm glad that I did not buy a Roku box yet to. I look forward to see how this goes.

I submitted my request the same night they announced it sometime last week or so and seems they started shipping yesterday

I received the Disc this afternoon but it didn't work when I tried it. Gives me a cannot connect to Netflix message. I verified the PS3 has a network connection and can surf, etc. but haven't had time to troubleshoot it any more than that yet.

Got my disc and am streaming the movie Bolt as I type. I also have the Roku player so just some comparisons. First, the interface is very similar but not identical, the mechanics are the same but the graphics are a little bit different, but that aside it's the same. Second, it's a lot slower than the Roku player for starting up and for scrolling through the queue. It's also slower to get the movie started. However it's not so slow as to be annoying, It's fine, just more sluggish than the Roku. Third, there is no indication as to what the quality is (1 to 4 bars or HD) like the Roku player does. The picture quality was OK, but I'll have to do a back to back comparison to see what it is compared to the Roku (won't be easy because I can't switch between them very fast). But I must say it's a great addition to the Playstation 3 capabilities but I won't be selling my Roku player anytime soon.

I should add something else about the interface that I just noticed, unlike the Roku player you can watch movies that aren't in your queue by tabbing over to several screens that are organized by genre (new arrivals, comedy, action etc...) And some tabs organized by your viewing history (I had one that was titled Like: Hudsucker Proxy for instance since I recently watched it and rated it high) This is really cool feature that I wish the Roku had.

I just fired my disc up as well.

It definitely is sluggish but it works. The PQ seems fine and actually looks better than the Roku box for some reason. Maybe its the upconverting the PS3 is doing to 1080p. Not sure.

I like that you can browse and watch movies that are not on the instant queue. Love that!

So is this disc based? Or does it load something onto the HDD?

It's a disc to activate the BD-Live service on the PS3. Nothing is actually embedded onto the HD

Works awesome on all 3 ps3's in the house. It does look better than the roku for some weird reason. Only problem I've had is that csi in HD didn't have sound, although it does on the roku and on the samsung bd player.

I have the same issue but reversed, Taxi Driver has sound on the PS3 but not on the Roku. Weird.

I have streamed a couple of HD movies so far and was very impressed with the quality. The quality was also very good on a regular movie and this is being run through a projector.

I love it. My only worry is how long before I get a call from Comcast for going over their bandwidth limit. I assume streaming an HD movie uses alot.

The disc is supposedly temporary and it will be embedded with a future PS3 update (2010)

The disc is supposedly temporary and it will be embedded with a future PS3 update (2010)I hope they get this done quickly. It would be a great addition to the PS3 firmware. It shouldn't be that hard. Heck I just bought a cheap $150 insignia Blu-Ray player at Best Buy and it streams Netflix perfectly.

The only drawback to all of this is that the Amazon streaming function is missing which means I will need to keep my Roku box. I use Amazon to purchase missed episodes of TV series.

I used it all weekend. I'm very impressed with it. Very nice addition to an already great system. It will be nice if they go discless.

I believe I read the disc-less feature won't be enabled until after the 1st of the year due to some exclusivity agreements with other companies that dont expire until end of year. Seems I read that in a thread around here, or on engadget....if true it'll be a couple of months yet.

Worked very well, Finished watching a series i started watching on my 360 and apart from the longer delay in buffering worked flawlessly

Watched China Syndrome last week and the audio sync was way off by about 1.5 seconds. I reported it to Netflix when they asked about the quality in a survey they sent me.
Other than that problem the only other thing I have had is when going through the list it sometimes will reset back to the first selection and I have to start all over from the beginning.

How would you compare it to the 360?

I have to ask what kind of internet plan are you on. I have a 10 meg plan and mine does great.

I got my disk last weak but guess what, i don't have my ps3 yet.:D

Oh yea i have to do everything backwards but the disk is free and ps3 is 300 bucks and i have a roku box that's working out great especially whit the new channels.

Maybe next weak i will break down and get the ps3 but one question first, how well does it work whit Playon? I have been using it to stream Hulu and Crackle to the HR-23 and it works ok,just ok.

Works great for me as well. I've used Netflix streaming on my HTPC for awhile now, but for some odd reason they don't allow streaming HD shows to the PC. PQ seems better on the PS3 for SD movies, and HD movies look good. The only thing I see missing on the PS3 side is a search function (unless I missed it).

HD stuff from Netflix streamed to my PS3 looks great. The only thing missing is 5.1, I think everything is in Dolby 2.0

Netflix HD streaming works fine for me too via DSL connection. 5.1 is coming later this year.

I really wish a gold membership wasn't required for this on the Xbox 360. I'm jealous!
