I have a slingbox classic that I used to have hooked up to my tivo series 2 and my homesecurity camera. I just switched to Directv and got a R22 receiver that is suppose to be the non-hd receiver but the installer said it can pick up HD and it does. I hooked up the new directv receiver to my slingbox but I am unable to connect to it or to my home security camera. any thoughts what I am doing wrong or if it just not will work with my slingbox classic? I would have thought that the camera would at least still work with the slingbox.
Thanks

No reason why it should not work.
I have a Slingbox Pro, actually 2 of them with Directv and a security camera connected.
Works fine, always has.
What inputs does the Classic have?
How have you connected them?

I got it connected using s-video. It just won't connect to even give me the chance to edit the slingbox profile from tivo to directv. maybe it has something to do with the IR cable.

I'm using a Slingbox AV, this is where I would go to change the input in the player.
Hope this helps.
--- Edit ---
I wanted to make sure I was giving a good answer. So I dug up a S-video cable and attached it to my R22-200 as well. I then used the yellow RCA cable to attach the Slingbox AV to my video camera. Once I had re-run the setup assistant and added the S-video input I had no problems switching between the two. (However, since I have a Slingbox AV the audio stayed the same on both inputs, it only has 1 set of the red/white connectors).

I've got two Classic's and Pro. All work just fine with the R22 and HR2x series DVRs (as well as security cameras). I can see no reason at all why it shouldn't connect properly.

Another note, I was checking the specs for the Slingbox Classic online, you may want to think of using a RF modulator if you have to put the R22 on the coaxial input.

thanks guys, yeah I think I just have missed something in my setup. I will spend some time looking at it tonight. My setup with the tivo/security camera was tivo on the s-video and the camera on the composite. When I swithed to the directv I just moved the s-video cable from the tivo to the directv along with the red/white audio cables. I did not touch the camera setup so it is weird that the camera does not show up. It won't even connect, almost like I am having an internet problem. I will look at it tonight, thanks for your help.

Did you just plug it into the R22 as you had it with the TIVO? You will have to run the setup assistant and/or reset the slingbox.
I'd start over with just the security camera and see at what point that something goes wrong.
You might also independently test the SVHS output of the R22 and the security camera on a TV/display to make sure they are working as they should.

Well, that's true if you don't want to issue remote commands. I'd recommend changing the setup for a fair test.

OK, I am retarded. Apparently the directv installer must have accidentally unplugged the power cord to the slingbox from the wall and I did not notice this. Last night I realized this and now all is good again.

Don't be so hard on yourself, it happens to everyone.

What kind of Security Cameras do y'all have?
I am looking to add Security Cameras to my System and just wanted to know what is good and not too expensive.

I've got several that I've picked up at Fry's and at Costco. Most recent purchase was a Lorex SG7550A series at Costco for about $100. It is as good or better than any other camera I've gotten in that price range. It provides a standard composite video signal (Yellow). You can either feed that directly into a VCR, TV, or slingbox - anything that accepts that type of input, or you can feed it to an rf modulator and then tune to the applicable channel.
I've got several cameras as well as all my DirecTV equipment feeding modulators on different channels, and all are available on all TV's in my house just by going to the tuner input and selecting the applicable channel. That is also fed to my slingbox tuner input, so can watch any of them remotely the same way.

Thanks for the info about the cameras as I need to buy them and install them.
I have the Slingbox PRO HD and the SOLO.

what make / model modulators are you using?

I guess the modulators take the signal and modulate it so it can be viewed via your TV thru the Slingbox. Is this correct?

Channel Plus 3025 UHF modulators.

The modulators provide a standard analog TV signal. You can then combine the outputs of all the modulators into a single feed and send it to a TV set, and/or to the tuner in the Slingbox. In my case, I combine the modulator outputs, send them to a distribution amplifier, and from there to all my TV sets and to my Slingboxes (to the analog TV tuner input on the Slingboxes).
