I recently tried applying for dishnetwork but they didnt approve me for any of there plans because of my bad credit (let a car go back a few months ago, dealer wanted me to pay to fix something that they said was my fault, etc) so i have bad credit right now.Anyways i figured directv might be a little less strict,so i went ahead and ordered a system from a retailer online were you get it for free but just pay shipping,so i wanted to know when i go to activate the service and they see that my credit is bad will they deny to activate service (meaning the installer will have to take down everything he installed) or will they just ask me to pay the firsts month fee.
Do they offer some kind of automated payment thing to debit cards each month for people like me.

i hope i can help you with that question, i know some friends of mine bought a new system from a local installer, they did not have no credit at all established and directv charged them 50.00 activation fee to have there programming on, but since you do have some credit established it may be different in your case the csr can tell you when you call in for your programming, and yes they take debit cards for auto pay, i reactivated my services with directv earlier this year and as long as i agreed to the auto pay they waived the reconnection fee for me, enjoy your directv, its much better then dishnetwork.
For the credit challenged Directv will usually require an upfront payment before turning on the service. If you have a credit or debit card it can usually be handled on the initial phone call. Yes they do offer an automated payment option I use it to pay my bill and I like it. So far I can say it is much better than DISH'S credit card autopay, Directv's bill is easier to understand than DISH.
Just to add to boba's comments. D also accepts Western Union and Money Gram. I don't know what the added fees are, but in flipping past 201 I saw them say they accept those as well.

I had the same problem with Dish last year, my solution was to buy my recievers from dish usa, had no problem with the activation, and wasn't required to do autopay. Plus got a 501/301 with dish500 and intall for $99.
