I have a new 'Service' in current setup of my account that says 'No Annual commitment'. I has 0.00 charge with the subtext of '_offer' under the charge. I have the protection plan and recently (2 days ago) had 2 recievers upgraded to HD (beat the CSR down to 'no charge'). I was pretty sure I would get a new 2 year commitment. Does this mean I didn't?

Easiest way to confirm is to send an e-mail to DirecTV to confirm what your commitment end date is and what your ETF would be if you canceled today. These are separate items on your account so you want to make sure they coincide with each other.

As for if you should have gotten a commitment extension, if these are additional receivers or you upgraded from SD receivers, then you should have a new commitment according to their policy.

This may just be a place holder in the account. Check it again in a few days and if it's the same, then contact DirecTV.

I don't know your zip in western Montana, but it could be that you need mpeg4 equipment to get your local channels. If that is the case then you would not be charged for swapping out your sd receivers and there would not be a commitment.:)

Just a possible explanation, based on the info you provided.

I never noticed that on my current services listing before, but yes, I see it. I have the PP and just had to have them ship a replacement for my dead receiver, so I guess I need to make sure they don't try to sneak the commitment back in there, because my understanding is that replacing a defective SD DVR with another SD DVR of their choosing shouldn't do that, especially with the PP in place.
