Was Today's / July 15th Retailer Chat cancelled or rescheduled or?

So.....how does everyone like having to PAY Dish for their wonderful DVR software on a monthly basis?

If it's the 501, 508, 721, or any of the upcoming Dish PVR functions, the DVR functionality is, to borrow a line from Monster Garage, "Freebie FREEBIE FrEeBiE zip zilch nada".
DirecTV's DirecTivo has you playing a $4.95 fee, however, if if you subscribe to Total Choice Premium, then once again, use the same line from Monster Garage.
Must have been an interesting chat, if that is all they had to say. :)

Then, obviously, you can color me surprised. Gee, what's the smiley for bonking oneself?
No John H that wasn't all that was said some promotions are going to 2 year contracts, They are coming out with 2 HDTV sets in August both made by RCA. This chat just made me happy I decided to start selling Directv along with DISH. At least I will have something to sell this fall.

quite a long one it was..
But i feel so sleepy somehow to watch this tape this time..
Every time i put it on - it's like sleeping pill... It puts me out.. hehe
So i guess - i ll have to watch it over and over again - this time...
In any case - something that caught my eye there - Someone called about 301's EPG...
And the Tech guy said - sometime in Mid-September (more likely) - 301s should be getting new upgrade... and after that upgrade EPG info supposed to go to IRD's memory (2 days worth of it) - and therefore no Aquiring information will be needed every time one goes forward in the Guide...
That would be alright i guess...
I wonder then about other OPEN irds - like 4900s, 3900s, etc - if simular upgrade is coming for those.. to store EPG info into memory... But unfortunatly they didn't mention about those... hopefully those will improve as well...
The phone call was about 301s only though - and they just answered the question directly about 301s...
Oh well...
Back to sleep? (who knows...)

My question is why didnt they put the EPG info into the IRD's memory before? Why did they wait this long to do so? Did they have to compress the EPG enough to do so? I thought they already sent down software to compress the EPG but I thought I remembered on a chat when they said that they would be compressing the EPG more than once in an ongoing improvement to prevent the ''aquiring satellite info please wait''
