Since the on-demand is a download, you must have a DVR to record, so channels will not show up on other D-TV devices.

OnDemand requires:
- an active DirecTV HD-DVR (HR2x-series)
- an Ethernet connection to the Internet

Doesn't the R-22 have access to On-Demand as well since it has an ethernet port?

The R22 is just a renamed HR21, so, yes, it too can get OnDemand.

Well if you get an initial install with an R22 as your only receiver, you won't have the ability to receive HD programming since the dish that is installed is only for SD. The folks that are using an R22 as a HD-DVR already have an HD dish & HD Access on their account, right?

You should consider getting one...I can't live without mine!
