Well, the NHL did one thing right: they increased the number of intra-divisional games from 20 to 24. Unfortunately, they did this at the expense of inter-conference play. Each team will play only eighteen games against teams in the opposing conference. Thus, each team will play 12 of the 15 teams in the opposing conference only once, depriving many fans of the opportunity to see these teams.
