I keep wondering how they do it. This week's episode was clever, tightly written, funny, sad, had some science, some action, and had its superb cast playing the show's fun-to-watch characters. Most episodes are still like that.
They had some great twists and funny lines in what could have been just another power outage dramatic episode.
No wonder it's consistently the highest rated series this fall.

I agree. It was a superb episode. Loved Gibbs last line to the husband. "That's what makes her a hero". I choked up.

Enjoyed the 1970's props, but I had a few problems with the entire power down premise.
(1) Any root internet site would never be without their own standby power system. (let alone any fortune 1000 company)
(2) There is no way that all those servers and drives could be powered up by that tiny generator, let alone the whole building.
(3) How was it that McGee had to wait for the system to boot in the 'OP' site container, and when the power was restored in the office, all the systems resumed from where they left off? (no boot up)
btw, MAAA, THE INTERNET IS DOWN AGAIN!!!!!
I decided to overlook the inconsistencies and enjoy the plot ... I mean, really... mimeo ink that is good after 30 years? :p

As for the other inconsistencies, you can explain them away, kind of.:sure: ;)
I don't watch this show because of it's hot technology. I watch it because of Gibbs, Ziva, Tony, McGee, Abby, Dr. Mallard, etc. plus the smart writing.

I'm coldsteel, and I approve this :righton: message.

That was my point in my post, and that's why I don't heed inconsistencies like this too much - they detract from the story, and that's more what I'm interested in.

Also for mimeo you need to create a stencil. The stencil is wrapped around the ink-filled drum of the machine. When a blank sheet of paper is drawn between the rotating drum and a pressure roller, ink is forced through the holes on the stencil onto the paper.. Gibbs just stuck the original piece of paper on the platen and started cranking out copies.

Yeah - I noticed that too. I worked in the Math and Computer Science Department in college and had to make mimeos all the time and remember always starting with the "carbon" thingy, running each original through a machine to transfer it, and then putting carbon thingy on the machine. All of it was electric at least, so I didn't have to hand crank it! :p
