The rumors are - another Russian Channel is being "tested" now by Dishnet (not available to "mere mortal" subscribers - more likely)

More Russian TV!!! - sounds cool!

But maybe the best Russian Channel out there available anyhow to-date...

Ch 595, on both 61.5 and 148, tps 14 and 7
EPG name: "CH1RU" (that's Russia's Ch 1 (Aka First channel, Used to be called ORT CH 1 i think)

Good news anyhow!! - hope will not fade away as TVR faded away couple years ago at ch 594 (after being tested)

It would also be great if they could come up with a more realistic price. $19.99 for another Russian channel with crappy compression and so so content? I imagine they will just canabalize the other channels since a lot of people will just unsubscribe to what they have now for the new channel. They should just put the 4 channels in one package for $20-$30/month.

Well thats stinks like yesterday's garbage cause that means there probably won't be a tv guide till July 31 as well and my peers are demanding one sooner to get an idea of what's to come on that channel. lol. BTW - No rumor: www.kbs-tv.com ... then On the Left side, Click on Russia, and you ll get the Pop-Up telling you everything - Ch 595, July 31, July 31-Aug 13 (Free Preview), etc :D

Then - you ll also end up on this page: http://www.kbs-tv.com/departmental_content/content/ru-ru/index.shtml - where you can click on "Channel One Russia" (it's icon) - There you can read some more (if you know how to read Russian Letters of course) :)

One could have written it down and just phoning for the Info...

I have a feeling they might follow this one:

hey Dark, I sometimes find it hard online to distinguish people's tone when they say particular comments. So I hope I have not mad you mar or anything.

Anyways, I did call that number and the russian speaking operator told me that the she never heard anything regarding any more russian channels being added to dish network.


I told here that I went to the KBS website and read to her a pop up add, even though it is not there anymore, and she was surprised. She said to call back on Monday. Very informative operators there.

The phone number belongs to the russian speaking section of dishnetwork. If you want russian channels and can speak english, than you can remain on the line and talk to the operator that comes on.

If you want to speak with a russian agent than you need to leave your name, address, phone #, credit card number, social security number, power of attorney yes, and some one will be contacting you within 24 hours or so they say. Just kidding on the SS #, CC #, but I suspect that they will contact you sooner. I spoke with an english speaking operator.

Maybe the english speaking operator who I spoke with did not really care for getting info to me because I told her that I was not a subscriber of dish network and all I really cared about was a tiny russian channel when really she could of been thinking of getting me signed up with the america's everything pack for one year cause they do have sales quotas to meet you know. Who knows.

Ya - other dude was speaking to the russian speaking operator, who probably had some more "clue", then the english one that you spoke to (who obviously had "no clue) :p

Unless - english speaking ones that got "a clue" about "tiny russian channel" are full time ones (that work for example Mon-Fri), and not the "part-time" help (more likely) that works on Week-ends :D

So, in any case - maybe there is still some hope for this Russian Channel to be launched...maybe even July 31 (who knows...)

Kanal Melodia is no longer listed on that mux. It has been replaced by Radio Greece, which is silent as are all the radio channels on that mux.

Correction: There is one radio channel with the same sound as Pink Plus TV. Of course, it is not IDed per sey, just RA8.

Yep I sure did Darkman. I took your benevolent advice. Mentioned 3 Korean channels (Free Preview ends Aug 6)

No mention about new Russian Channel (no mention of it...on the Retailer Chat anyhow) :(

According to some post at Russian TV forum, someone said that Dishnet told him thatt Ch 1 will start at Dishnetwork on Thursday, Aug 14th (at channel 595)
