Sorry newbie but does Directv have backlit remotes? If so what model(s)?

Thanks

The DirecTV 64RB is DirecTVs latest remote (even though its a few years old) that is backlit and is also RF capable.

I believe it is also the only remote at this time that is backlit. (With exception maybe to the super-big remote for those with going eyesight).

The special NFL remotes they offer are versions of this and also backlit.

They are cheaper than than the standard backlit remote and they come with an RF antenna. Last time I looked they were about 20-22 bucks.

And they are identical to the RC64B in functionality...

I believe that is the big-key remote. If it is, it does not have all the keys on it that the RC64RB has.

The RB was renamed RBK on the RC64. The RC65 is still labeled RC65RB.

It is not the big button remote.

Okay. I didn't think so, but when I saw the "K" I started to doubt myself.

I thought the "K" meant that an antenna (for R15/16) was included.

I think it will be a mystery that not even Scooby Doo could solve. The RC64 is the only one designated with a K and the RC65 can come with an antenna as well.

RC64RBK is the remote and kit (the antenna).

Hmmm I ordered the RB, what's the antenna for? Don't the RB and RBK do the same thing?

They do.

There are some receivers, (I beleive the H21's may be the only ones but I honestly have forgotten) that required an external antenna be attatched. Whereas the rest have antennas built-in.

Thank you for clarifying. I have the HR21 I think.

The receivers needing an external antenna for RF remote use are the H20 series (100 and 600), HR20-100 (I know because I have one) and the R15 series (100, 300 and 500). I think the H10 may also have a RF remote antenna connection.

The HR20-100s require an external antenna for RF. I'm told the HR20-700 does not. Not sure about any other HR20s. IIRC the HR21s 22s + 23s all have internal antennas.

Hmmm I was wrong. I have the HR22-100
Guess I will find out when the remote arrives. Hopefully I don't need the antenna otherwise how can I get an antenna?

If you have the HR22-100, you have a built-in RF remote antenna, so you're good to go.

My HR20-700s do not require an external antenna (they has one built in).

Congrats to the OP

Thanks for the confirmation. It does seem odd to me that different maufacturers would have differences on the same platform. I would think the "specs" would be the same no matter who makes it.
