PVR 508 takes 7 seconds to change channels

I have a new (3 months) PVR508. It worked great at first, then after 2 days when I change a channel it takes 7-8 seconds for the new channel to come in. This can not be right. Any ideas, or should I call Dish (where I ordered it from).

try holding down the power button for several seconds until it reboots.

My 508 did the same thing... Eventually the recordings started getting currupt. If the reset does not fix the problem, you may need to get it replaced. Dish could not come up with a solution for me, so they sent me another 508.

What channel are you tuning to? If you are keying in a local channel that is less than 3 digits, there is a timeout period where the receiver is expecting more input.

Does it still take a long time if you hit the Browse button, key in the # then press Select?

Any way I do it, It takes 7 seconds: Channel up key, manual input, browse & select. I tune to 3 digit channels, I dont get locals with Dish. Thanks
