Howdy,

I'm having daily, and numerous audio and video losses since the install of my 1000.2 dish about a year ago. Techs have come out twice in the last year, and last week E sent me a replacement 722 receiver. My local HD channels are the main problem. the 119 sat will not lock unless i change the transponder/spot beam from 7 (preset?) to something else 5, or 17 work well, when i come back it's switched back to 7. I've called E again this week and was told my local HD channels weren't on the 119, but when i check the program info, it says they are on the 119 satellite....

E wants to send out another tech, is it worth it?

Uverse just became available in my neighborhood in NE san jose, ca. Should i switch?

I'd recommend reading this thread I'm back with Dish (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?p=2244712#post2244712). Paul lives in your region, has been through the switch twice, and hates Uverse.

Sounds like your dish needs to be re-aligned.

You don't choose transponders... transponders have different channels, so each time you tune to a different channel the transponder may change (could be anywhere from 3-12 channels on a transponder depending on HD vs SD)... so it sounds like you are probably having low signal issues with some and not others, which either indicates a failing LNB OR a mis-aligned dish I'd think.

Thanks Phrelin and Stewart, I've read the "i'm back with Dish" stuff, and really don't want to switch... I will call Dish this afternoon, and schedule an appointment to have the dish checked out.

Thanks again

You're welcome... and I hope they are able to fix you up. Most folks (like me) have pretty solid/reliable signal levels once properly peaked... but it seems some customers have a more difficult time than others getting that initial install done right.

You are not the only one in the bay area experiencing dropouts.

I'd like to recommend this thread: http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=168713

I've been experiencing this for several weeks now. It's really bad.

Please do let us know how the realignment worked out for you.

Maybe everyone in the San Jose area needs to have this done.

Howdy, A dish technician came out to my house a week ago Sunday and replaced the LBDN, LDBN LNDB (whatever), and I am still having minor audio drops and very minor pixelation, but no more complete loss of picture... Honestly, I'm not watching as much TV, but I'm still contemplating switching to UVERSE.

NO! U-verse is horrid! Trust me. You'll be sorry. I had lots of problems with the service.

Hey Paul, Thanks for the advice. I still haven't made up my mind yet. Dish has been behaving lately... So, I'm not going to make the switch at this point.
