I just watched the return of Scrubs, with the action moving from Sacred Heart hospital to Winston University Medical School, and to me the show picked up where it left off, hitting all the right notes: wit, charm, warmth, and a few good laughs. I think they did a great job with casting, too.

What do you think?

Any favorites of the students? I'm partial to the Drew guy, myself. ;)

I voted "no decision." I think I'd actually feel better about it if it felt more like a spinoff, rather than a continuation; for example, if the med school hospital had a name other than "Sacred Heart," and if there had been fewer appearances by old characters and a wider variety of new people. (I understand Bill Lawrence wanted to change the title but was denied, so it looks like the best he could do was "Scrubs: Medical School" as the official title in the opening.)

Aussie Chick! BIG THUMBS UP to her. :D

I liked it and think the med school storyline is a good way to refresh the show outside of the hospital. I think the "dream sequences" with J.D. are a bit over-the-top though.

Denise "Jo" Mahoney is the balls. I'd much prefer the show be centered around her than Elliott lite.

I wouldn't be surprised if over time the storylines do shift to make here a more central character. Think back to "How I Met Your Mother", where Coby Smulders (Robin) was meant to be in only the first few episodes, but the producers liked her so much and so did the fans, that she became a regular. They can do the same with "Denise" ... the actress is quite good at holding her own!

I think this show is different enough, though... Only a brief appearance by Elliot and the Todd, a no-show from Carla and Ted, three new "core" players (the interns) and a more prominent role for Denise. I'm holding out hope it scores big and sticks around, especially when Better off Ted returns - that should be a great Twosday showing. :)

I liked it although I missed Janitor and Carla. I like Lucy so far, but I agree that Denise is hilarious.

I *really* miss Ted. As a lawyer, he's my favorite.

I'm glad to see IMDB is now presenting the show's official title as "Scrubs" and not "[scrubs]," as they were for a while -- one is the correct way to write a title in English, and the other is a misguided attempt to render a logo as plain text. I was afraid the new version was going to end up being listed as "[scrubs] [med school]," which is how I think it was shown in the opening titles.

No thumb. I have not made it into 5 min of any episode before I roll my eyes and change the channel.

I miss Ted.. Not enough Elliott.. Not enough Janitor. Too much of these interns. The show has just gone downhill this year...trying to string it out for another season was not a good idea. They should have left it go after least season as intended. They even had to screw with the theme song at the beginning.

I think I'll be taking it off Series Link but I'll give ABC one more week.

Instead ABC wanted to call the new show Scrubs, so that's what you see. You'll only ever see Elliot and Carla as occasional guest stars - they're not going to be series regulars.

I just didn't find the show entertaining or sharp. Sure I miss the old regulars but that's ok. Other than Dr. Cox and "Jo" I just didn't chuckle. I'll probably watch a few more, but it just doesn't seem like appointment TV as the previous Scrubs did several years back.

So I watched the episode last night and now I'm confused (I forgot to set the DVR for the first episode, so that may be the reason).

Zack Braff seemed to be a pretty big focus of the show for someone that was supposed to be out of this series and only doing occasional cameos.

Since she seems to be taking over the internal monologue, I guess the Elliot replacement intern is going to be the focus of new series.

Is it me, or are they trying to make Jo and the girl from above look just like Elliot?

Once again, is it just me, or does Dr. Cox's new favorite intern look a lot like Keith? I had to do a double take because I thought it was him when I saw the first scene he was in.

I guess the security guards are supposed to be the Janitor replacements. Did they do anything in the first episode? It looked like they were setting them up for something in this episode, but then they didn't do anything. Seems like they could have been cut out of the episode completely.

I agree with the comment about the song. However, I guess you would have to change the singer if Zack wasn't going to be on the show any longer.

I watched this week's episode last night and I think it still has potential, but it certainly is not at the top of my list like it used to be.
