That and make it an integral part of the OS.
And of course this....

Exactly :D so between now and whenever the EU, Microsoft bashers and a law requiring them to allow other browsers access to their update site, they will enjoy their big peice of the pie . Even you have to admit it a good marketing strategy that works

IE7 and IE8 are both very decent browsers. I use IE8 everyday, has very good compatibility overall with sites out there and is secure.

Firefox has gotten to be a pig lately...I am a bit annoyed overall TBH. Switched to Chrome as my main browser now because of it.

IE hate is all the rage these days though.

My biggest gripe with IE8 is rendering forum pages with lots of posts.

Anyone that only has 1 browser on their system is really fooling themselves today.

On my main Windows PC: IE8, Firefox, and Safari
On my main MacBook: Safari and Firefox
On my netbook: Google Chrome (with IE and Firefox installed, but rarely used anymore)

I found that both IE and Firefox were just huge hogs of performance on the netbook, Chrome has been working very well there.

The problem is, the standards board move so incredible slow (take a look at N wireless standards for example, even though it is a different board). This browser makers need to innovate to get more market share, but then they all go their own ways.

At the end of the day, at least we are no longer paying for browsers and for the most part, they all get along when they are installed on the same system.

It also works well that my wife uses IE on her laptop, and then when I use her laptop I just fire up Safari and our cookies don't clash.
I also usually put my streaming audio/video, in the non-default browser in the background. That way when I click on links, It doesn't take over my audio page.
