New HD Channels [Archive]

The month of December has finally arrived. Can we look forward to some new HD Channels before the end the 2009 or will it be early 2010 before DirecTv launches some new HD feeds? A few channels I am looking for to be available in HD are WGN in HD, AMC in HD, and MSNBC to become HD full time. I'm really hoping D* gets a deal done to start carrying WGN in HD in anticipation of next years baseball season for Cubs and White Sox ball games next spring and summer.

You knew before you posted this what the answer was... NO... D12 is being delivered to the launch site now with a launch befor the end of the month. End of Story.

At best, if the D12 launch goes smoothly, a few new HD channels may open up on D10 and D12 after the NFL season ends.

Well I get WGN HD just fine.
Of course I have E* and if you want WGN so bad all you have to do is switch it
really easy to do. MSMBC is also HD all the time ON E* but since I don't watch that channel I don't know if it has HD all the time but that would not be D*'s fault that would be on MSNBC. Does AMC even have an HD service?
I just love those commercials where D* says that will have the capicaty to have 200 new HD channels. OF course they don't say that they will really have 200 new HD channels. I really don't think that there 200 new HD channels to be had.

Do Directv subs go on Dish forums to remind them how great NFLST & MLBEI is? :rolleyes:Thanks for your Dish "commercial" here. WGN HD, huh? Man, you guys are lucky! I sure wish I could watch Alf & The Cosby Show in upconverted SD. :lol:

The HD channel count is about 131 right now....PPV channels count so over 200 is attainable.

The commercial doesn't say 200 NEW channels. It says the capacity to have over 200 HD channels.
