So I was on DirecTVs site 2 days ago looking through policies and what-nots...

Came across:
Can I Purchase instead of Lease my equipment? (http://support.directv.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/750/session/L3NpZC9xc3pMQW9Pag%3D%3D/page/3/r_id/104513/sno/0) The answer is Yes.
You can purchase equipment from DirecTV, OR, SOME retailers can sell you the equipment at full price. Check Retailers (http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/findRetailer.jsp?assetId=500016&_requestid=2172292).

When I did this I just-so-happened to put in an area code quite near Ironwoods office, and it spit out a bunch of results.
Wal-Mart & Best Buy were a given.
I also got Ironwood (apparently they have a store-front I can go down to...)
Integration Technologies (Custom Installer)
RC Communications (Commercial/Residential low-volt installer)

Why is this all so important?
I lost that tab, so, I decided to go to IronwoodCommunications.com
Once the page loaded, I noticed it looked strikingly similar to DirecTV.com
Including the use of /DTVAPP
So I started clicking on things. I clicked on 'my account' it showed my DirecTVs My Account login.

Originally I thought it was just DirecTVs site in an Iframe until I noticed that clicking the links kept me on the ironwood domain and it never shot me over to DirecTV.com

I knew DirecTV was buying HSP's but I didn't know Ironwood was among the list (at-least in my area)

// EDIT: the title was supposed to be amongst*
Stupid typo's.

The copyright at the bottom of the page is even DIRECTV's.

Thats because they just changed the domain to point to DirecTVs site.

The only time Ive been able to actually "leave" ironwood and get to DirecTV is when logging in, because that goes over a secure connection (HTTPS) and uses DirecTVs Certificate.

Ironwood was bought out by DirecTV about a year ago. The most recent acquisition was Connect Television.

IRONWOOD

Is among the installer (NOT NICE TO HAVE BUSINESS RELATIONS WITH ... OK?) ball companies. Nobody will work for them over a week or they deserve what they get. Low money offered and slow to no pay are among the nasty (UNCONFIRMED) rumors about them.
Even though I interviewed with them and found much******* and quite a bit of ****. Not to mention that when I got home they had taken my dog and ****** with a *****!

You want to buy something from them? This is probably an installer trying to collect money owed for installations by selling equipment (illegal).

Avoid them ( My free opinion)

Joe

Something wrong on my end. When I type **** ball I get ****! Go figure?

Well, yeah......but I started wit da pros of Chaucer. Den Mr William Shakespeare seemed a way of speakin. Still no communicatin,.... so I switched to Pappa Hemingway....and...would ya believe it...nobody got my message!

I see stuff and report it. When others report stuff I pass it on. But when those **** **** try to get me to **** and then say stuff that I know is *** *** well, I just gotta ring the ****** bell. These companies do not start out as *** ***** and of course *** ***** but when they compare their corporate ethics to the financial ( fiduciary?) responsibilities and basic management functions they will **** and **** with anyone who will ***** with them. Not only that, but many of their subcontractors are guilty of ***, **** with miners and ( I just can't say it!

I feel for Directv,

My own family suffered as Directv is now. We have enough money to buy the state...but it is all invested. We try to live a quiet existence. But my uncle Josh,,,, (not Josh's real name) has an embarrassing problem!

When he gets away from the nurse he gets dressed and takes the Rolls downtown. He bets tourists whatever they will wager that they cannot get their personal cigarette lighter to work ten times in a row or he can cut off their thumb....with the hatchet he does carry!

So we repair the thumbs we can and pay off the lawyers that arrive. Most of all....we watch my uncle Josh!

Subcontractors can be like that.

In the last 4 installs and 9 service calls i've been involved in. I think I was only dissapointed with 2.

Ironwood has been good here.
Then there was that crazy-arse 3LNB install on the side of my house with the lag bold hanging out the bottom. Theres pictures of it somewhere around here. We all had quite a good laugh!

Think what a slow and incompetent MASTEC would be like.
That is DirectSatUSA. They have a reputation for dirt ball subs and loosing equipment.

I've had 3 installs done now and each one has been good. Only this last one was kind of crappy. The tech left before making sure everything was working correctly - didn't want to wait for a software download. Whatever. Easy call to D* and it was working.
