I just called directv and the 110 bird is currently down. Anyone having problems with 110 channels, it is not your equipment. All HD is out except HDNET and HBOHD. I thought my lnb had died from a thunderstorm we just had in the Boston area.

Doesn't DirecTv use some of the same satellite space as Dish Network does on 110 or do they have their own satellite up there at 110 or 119? The 110 channels on Dish Network are working and active.
DIRECTV has their own satellite at 110. There is absolutely no affiliation between DIRECTV & Dish Network as far as broadcast capabilities go.

I thought DirecTv used a few of Dish's transponders at one of their orbital slots?

Directv is(was) in the process of switching it's programming at 110 from Directv1 to Directv6. It was suppose to be completed overnight, but it seems that they are having some additional issues with the switch.
UPDATE: The issues seems to be isolated to the NE.
Some Local Channels that are currently on the 101 bird will be moving i believe to the 110 bird. This is why the 110 bird might be having a little bit of "Technical Difficulties" Have a nice day :)

In New England and the channels are still out. Overnight is taking on a new meaning.

Overnight means waiting on hold that long to get someone to even report the issue.

Here's the deal. After an extended wait and kick up to Tier II technical support 4 people in the New England area have called in with the issue. They need a 5th call to raise the issue to the Transmission Center. The number to get there without asking for a supervisor/kick upstairs is 1-800-695-9251. PLEASE CALL IN if you have the problem so this gets resolved. There is also a Chinese programming issue on 110 which is likely the reason. Don't take the "I'll send a Service guy out to check your fried LNB or combiner. Please call so this gets resolved for everyone.

I have called 3 times- 2 idiots and 1 tier2 idiot. All denied any problems with HD. All went to a supervisor and came back with a sheepish "it seems we are having some difficulty". the worst experience was with the tech chic. Call that number posted above and get these fools moving. Or we can all wait til NEXT WEEK for ESPN's next HD broadecast!!!!

[SIZE=3]110 is back up in Boston. The signal is in the 60's so Directv must still be working on the problem. I was getting 80's before this problem happened. I may have to tweak the dish position to maximize my signal.

NO.
They just share the frequencies. DISH is licensed for some and DirecTV is licensed for the others.
