Delay with ESPNHD?

Just noticed for the first time tonight that ESPNHD on 206 is about 1sec behined the older one thats on channel 73. Also noticed that volume is slightly louder on 73 too. I know 73 is older format being broadcasted but just thought the delay b/w the two feeds was interesting.

Gotta get my dish fine tuned I guess b/c we just had a really bad storm come in here and I lost 206 for a min while 73 i was still getting clear. Need to tweak for 99c some to rectify that problem.

Nothing wrong; been that way from the beginning of KA HD broadcasts.
I attribute it to more "intensive" processing of MPEG 4 vs MPEG 2.
KA (206) signals more attenuated by rain than KU (73). Frequency and durations of KA rainfade are always going to be more than KU.

Yeah I'm not saying its not normal, just shocked I hadn't realized this until now. lol
I know there's more processing/data with mpeg4 so it makes sense in theory.

Hopefully I can get the dish tuned in enough to eliminate the rain fade on 99c HD channels.
