MIAMI - (KRT) - First, there were movies. Then reality shows. And this week, ESPN not only hired Rush Limbaugh for its NFL pregame show, it presented a three-hour mock trial debating the merits of inducting Pete Rose into baseball's Hall of Fame.
So what's happening to America's No. 1 sports network? Obviously, airing games, studio shows and talk shows are no longer enough.
In the coming months, the network will present its first fictional prime-time drama series and three more reality shows, including one chronicling the lives of male and female fishermen on a luxury yacht, which sounds like something you're likely to see on Fox than leading into SportsCenter.
