I am new to all of this so please forgive me if this is a redundant or inappropriate question.

I am a Dish subscriber who also receives the local channels. One of these channels is a PBS station.

 Here is my question: I own a Mitsubishi WS-65311 projection television. There is a feature for setting the internal clock automatically. It uses XDS (Extended Data Services) from a PBS station (I think there are others you can use also) to maintain the clock setting. Does DishNetwork send this XDS signal while viewing a PBS channel?

I think they might support it, since I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder connected to Dishnetwork and have never set the clock in the 2 years since I have had it.

It survives Power outtages and everything, yet I never set the clock and its always accurate!

I think dish has some method of preserving XDS (or even adding it) since my sony VHS deck picks up show titles from certain channels.

I don't know if they carry the time on PBS feeds, but it would be nice, because not all my gear has other ways to set the time.

you'd probably have to leave your reciever on with a pbs channel playing and see what happens.

I've got an XDS capable TV that has show names for most channels but not channel names (I think, because I use S-Video, and the TV does not expect channel names for S-Video, so it always says "Video Input 1").
