This may be covered in another thread.. but could not find it ..must be using wrong search words(??)

But:

What ''LOW END"" ''Off Shelf''{aka:WalMart or direct from mfg} PC will allow 'HD' content to stream from DirecTV DVR's?

I would be great if I could change channels on the remote DVR in future versions of the software!

[[Back Ground]]
I use to use a ''bank'' of UHF converters to send my DirecTV programs from multi receivers through out the house.. then ""DIGITAL TV & HD"" came along using up my free UHF channels in my market area.
I have now hooked the sets up to one DVR using direct A/V cables.. but no HD and two DVR not connected.
So till DirecTV comes out with their own media share hardware.. so that DVR's can share programing... I am looking for the next thing..

Pretty much anything with a built-in Blu-ray player that will play movies, will work with DIRECTV2PC.

Then I am sorry, you would be best to wait until systems that can play Blu-ray disks are that inexpensive.

Now sure where you'll find a $150 one, "but":
An old 3 GHz Pentium 4HT, with AGP, and a newer video card that supports h.264 [MPEG-4 decoding] and has HDCP [along with a monitor that does too], has worked fine here.
