I am not talking about a new channel. I am talking about the programming on an existing channel.

Channel 101 was supposed to change from The Remote Help Channel to "Dish Network 101" which would offer a wider selection of help topics.
It was supposed to be put in place after last months Charlie Chat.
Since that time I have heard no more of Dish Network 101.
I just wish they would bring back Dish News Network, it made Dish feel alot more exciting and customer oriented.

It was, for whatever reason discontinued a few years ago. It could have been due to Laurie Farcaus (sp) leaving or not, but I too wish they would being it back.

new 101 was supposed to become available in June (according to the old Retailer Chat i think)
Obviously E* should have added "Subject to Change" to this one also :D

When I had said that they were supposed to have the 'new channel 101' I did not mean that they were replacing it with a different type of channel, I meant new channel 101 in which would have different content but still be an informational channel. I believe they used to have two of these, one at 100 and the other at 101.

Here is the information I got from the last FAX Blast that was sent to me...
Channel 101: Be on the lookout in June for an all-new Channel 101. In addition to a brand-new look, this channel will also have new content. We’ve changed so much that we are actually changing the name as well, to DISH Network 101. This channel is a great place for you to refer newly installed DISH Network customers as well as current customers for questions about the remote control, features like locks and browse, all of the entertainment options, interactive TV, billing, customer services and more! Think of this channel as a fun and
friendly way to jump start your customer’s DISH Network experience.
The question now is WHERE IS IT?!

Darkman, why are you pessimistic? I say the channel will change around the 2034.

Yeah I'm surprised that they still run that HD demo loop with her explaining HD and Discovery HD Theater. I just saw it too again, the other day at WalMart.

You can still get your fill of Laurie Farkas on the HDTV demo channel. But where do I go for my fix of Britney Troisi? :D

Screw that brat Britney :)
I used to E-mail Laurie Farkas all the time, the last time I heard from her, she took up a Job as a news anchor on a local television station in Cheyenne.

Britney Troisi, lol, does she not do that Saturday morning flick thing anymore? I guess not since they changed 101 a while back.
Today, August 1, Dish Network appears to have finally changed the content on channel 101.

Yup...they seemed to changed it..
I heard them say "Dishnetwork 101" at ch 101's current advertisings... (or tape that they are rolling)
EPG name still says "HELP" though
And EPG info is still: "Remote Control Help"
Who knows maybe they ll change the EPG name and info soon...
The new channel 101 is an extra 9.98 a month, 4.98 if you have AT150.

this new 101 is not really a big deal so far...
the way they made it sound, sounded like some Very Exciting New Look...
But all i see is - just another tape going over and over again...
Who knows - but maybe the old look, with this Guy going: "Well, Sometimes i just NEED a GAME!" - by now is actually More exciting to me :) --- He was like a part of the Family here!
On the other Note, - New chick is "aight" though :p

I don't really like the new Channel 101, when the new receivers come out in a month or two the loop is already outdated.
I have also noticed the ladys audio is over modulated at times causing come loud clipping when she talks.
I say bring back DNN.

wtf does DNN stand for, ... cuz i must be "toast" at the moment, as only "familiar *NN" that comes to mind currently is CNN :(

I'm a new sub but i believe dish network news which is what used to occupy i think either channel 100 or 101 before they made channel 101 the interactive channel and 101 the remote channel.

DNN was Dish News Network, it was a 15 min newscast that was updates once a week with information on new channels new features, specials, and other behind the scenes looks at Dish Network.
Darkman

OK Thanks..
ya - "updated once a week with info on new channels, features, etc" = Sounds Great, and would have been much better!
But i guess - running some tape over and over again, is way less effort for Dish :(
Cheap "fix" (if you ask me)
I prefer "quality" :p

So who are these two? I mean Laurie told us who she was every time. So did Marnie Brooks. These two run around a small set changing their clothes four times in 15 minutes and never tell us who they are.

Maybe they are too cheap to pay for DNN. I did like the content of what was previously on 101 better before this new content.

Yup, however looks like Dishnet is moving Forward, not Backward :)

I watched the new loop on 101 yesterday, basically it equates to a slate saying 'Visit dishnetwork.com for information'. But it was about time for a new demo. :)
