1) how soon after the order should I be able to go online and setup my account so that I can apply for the rebates? I didn't get an email because the guy missed putting in my correct email addy until after everything was done. But I tired going to both directv.com and /rebates to try to create an account but putting in my last name/phone/zip and it says account not found.


2) I ordered 2 hd-dvrs, I geuss under the new rules, I would qualify/should get a swm setup (even though I know its not gaurnttee)

I would call DTV 866-678-9471 to modify the order to include email address and to obtain your account number. If you can submit rebate prior to activation you may see credit on first bill.

You would only qualify for a SWM setup if you have 5 or more tuners in the setup.

"• New customers only. (Upgrades and Mover’s Connections do not qualify!)
• At least 1 HD receiver.
• 5-8 tuners total.**
• No International programming.

**Mid Oct 2009, this will be changing; all *new* HD installs without Internationals with 8 or less tuners will get SWM LNBs."

Having 1 HD receiver qualifies you however it's still not a guarantee. I can say that everyone, including the tech, will want to do a SWM however if they don't have any than you'll have to go non SWM.

You can go online right now to www.directv.com/rebates (http://www.directv.com/rebates) and follow the instructions. If you submit your rebate before the installer activates the account the rebate will be on your first bill. If you submit your rebate and then want to change equipment you will need to cancel this order and place a new order.

I get this error

"We could not find your account. Please verify you are providing the phone number associated with your account. "

It's possible they entered one of those required fields incorrectly (misspelled/typo). Simply CALL DirecTV to verify the info. It's also possible your account never got created for whatever reason.

It's possible they entered one of those required fields incorrectly (misspelled/typo). Simply CALL DirecTV to verify the info. It's also possible your account never got created for whatever reason.

This is correct something on the account is not as you thought it would be or should be. Usually it's the phone number if you call from a cell and they just plug that in as the primary. If you have a different address for billing it's possible that was put in as well as the service address. If that happens you may need to cancel and replace the order.

Just call them at 800-531-5000 and tell them you need to validate your account information and ensure it's correct so you can submit the rebate. If they offer to do it for you decline or you'll lose $5 a month for the signing up online part.

Called. They had 2 things wrong. Email, and missed a letter in my last name.

All seems to be good now.

One more question.

Did I have to add autopay during the phone call for the extra gift card? Or just log on and set up the account that way
