I've researched quite a bit but need to confirm before I purchase.

I have 2 H20 Receivers and 1 HR20-100S DVR installed with a 5 LNB slimline antenna. It's been working for 4 years.

Just recently completed the basement and ran 1 coax to the Structured Wiring center for a new DIRECTV box addition. Oops, should have run two cables for a new DVR? Too late, everything is closed in already.

Now I've read the SWM-8 can do the job with a single cable to the DVRs.

My question, can I add the SWM-8, power insertion unit and splitter without messing with the antenna which has 4 cables coming down from it into the Structured wiring box? My concern is: Isn't there a multiswitch in this antennna already and does it compromise the SWM-8 install in any way?

I would mount the SWM-8 and power insertion at the structured wiring box, appx. 60' away from the antenna if this would work.

I'd rather not have to change out the LNB and realign if I don't have to.

Thanks for any advice and support.

Yes, you can do what you're asking. The multiswitch in the LNB just lets you connect the 4 lines from the dish in any order at the SWM-8.

However I believe the Power Inserter (PI) is recomended to be at least 15' away from the SWM-8 module. I put mine at one of the receivers. Others have just coiled up 15' of cable and had the PI in the wiring cabinet with the SWM-8 module.
