These above channels may come into the Dish Network Lineup in the fall!
How do you feel about this?

It would depend on which package they added them to, and even then, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Absolutely no interest in Oxygen. The missus would probably watch Fine Living [although i'd prefer DIY], and I could watch Nicktoons, depending on if it's just a clone of Nick/NickW or not.
And of course what sort of concomitant price alteration would occur.....But hey, can't go wrong with more channels : )
Hmm....never mind...the listings I just found for Nicktoons TV made it look like the Rugrats Channel....No thanks.
[Is it just me, or does anyone else find all this 'doubledipping' really annoying? Half the shows on TV are played 2ce in a row.]

Nicktoons TV isn't all rugrats. They air other toons as well, like Fairly Oddparents, Angry Beavers, Ren & Stimpy classic, KaBLAM!, etc. BTW, All the schedules I found were for the UK Nicktoons TV, not the US one.
There okay, I guess. I'd rather have Trio, Goodlife, and B-Mania.

I can believe the Fine Living one, I have been talking to some folks that claim to work for Scripps and (The owner of HGTV, FINE LIVING and DIY) was told that they are working closely with Dish Network.
Nicktoons would not surprise me, Charlie likes having a lot of Kids programming.
Oxygen would surprise me though.
I do know that after SuperDish is up there will be a bunch of new things added although most if not all of them will require a SuperDish.
It's going to be an interesting fall for Dish Network subscribers.

Isn't SuperDish for people who only want more HDTV channels? People who don't have locals? and for people who want more international channels? I don't think that these channels will need SuperDish since they are certainly not locals, HD, or International! I think they can be transmitted through Dish 500 satellites with AT 150 package.
How about something for men??

joe, there is (or soon will be) a channel for men called Spike TV. Launching on Aug. 11, it will be a rebrand of TNN as 'First Network for Men.'

BTW, If Charlie likes Kids stuff, why not add PBSkids while he is at it?

My question exactly. I can't believe PBSKids is the one being difficult to deal with??

I could do without all of those channels. They do not seem to interest me and I know would not interest many others. It is good for the women though so that would be a plus for them.
I doubt they would require a SuperDish for these channels. The SuperDish is supposed to be for locals, HD, itnernational, and internet.

Does anyone really need ANOTHER Lifetime channel ? (24 more hours of menopause and man-bashing, hooray  )
Or another channel showing Nicktoons all freakin' day ? I mean, I like Spongebob and the Fairly Oddparents just fine, but jeez ...

I agree except I doubt the SuperDish will be needed for these new channels if this rumor is true. Since HDTV, new locals will be going to 105 and new International's will go to 121 this will leave plenty of room on 110 for new SDTV channels for AT, DL and Premiums. I too would like to see Goodlife and Trio added.
JBar1017, what is your source for this rumor?

Better then the men suck theme of two of the other channels mentionted. My mom would be thrilled beyond her wildest imagination if Oxygen and Lifetime Real Women were added, she already watches Lifetime and LMN all evening. On my way passing to the kitchen to get food or something I usually can't help laughing, most of those movies are so corny and pathetic it's funny.

There is only ONE movie on Lifetime, it just gets repeated with one of 187 different titles...Some guy somehow comes into the life of the woman and her family. New Guy wrecks everything in families life, the police ignore the please of the woman to arrest the guy. And 90 minutes in she finally takes things into her own hands. Then the police arrive right as it all gets proven and she has the upper hand, the police have no choice but to arrest him and send him up the river for 20 years. ;)

lol yep that about sums it up
Out of all people, my uncle suckered me into watching a Lifetime movies once, the title was 'Hit and Run'. Only lifetime could turn a movie with a title like that that has so much potential into complete crap. A women is driving her Jeep in the rain, doesn't see a girl on a bicycle and hits her, calls the cops and them runs away has nightmares, cry me river  The movie could have been summed up into 15 minutes of bore instead of 2 hours.

Think GREEN. Repeats of Lifetime movies bring big bucks to the broadcaster.

Especially when you have 187 different titles but only one writer :p They recently did a spoof of Lifetime movies on Saturday Night Live (the one with Sen. John McCain). They had the bit with the Lifetime True Story about really menacing husband (played by McCain), but at the tend of the movie it all turned out that he was hard of hearing (and wouldn't admit it, like most men won't) so all the menacing stuff in perspective was him just trying get close enough to understand what people were saying. I think he gets a hearing aid at the end of the movie and all is well :D Of course they pretend to stretch it out for 2 hours...
Those channels add no value to me.. But i'm only one customer.
How about moving some of the channels from the top150 to the top 100 and put those channels in to the top 150..
migrating channels.
Fine Living is going to be welcome news for my wife. I am glad to hear that negotiations are pretty advanced. However I still would like more of the HBO/Cinemax suite channels.

What reaaly needs to be done is decide what to REMOVE! i Realize we have to have a certain number of public service offerings.. but people there is plenty of Crap that should be gone. Anyone agree with me?

I totally agree, but all of that PS stuff could be on 1 transponder. I'd love to be able to 100 channels and only 100 channels of those channels that I really care about.
Right on, TNG Tony! Trio and Goodlife would be my choices, hands down. Trio always has a pretty cool smorgasbord of programming. And as for Goodlife, these days they offer a more appealing lineup of classic TV than does TV Land. They're sort of the TV Land of the early days.
Hope you're listening, Dish Network. :)

Trio and G4 would be mine....... HBOZone would be nice as well...... as would ThrillerMax
Honestly, I could care less about a few non HD chick channels.
Just my preference

Not me. I actually watch the PI channels now and then. (Especially during christmas when BYU TV has all the Mormon Choir specials) The thing we should get rid of is all those BTV and shopping channels.
How about a DBStalk.com channel? Hosted by Scott Greczkowski and with our moderators here as guest hosts. You can have Call- in discussions or have callers on air via their Web Cam just like TechTV. Instead of being held monthly like the Charlie & Tech Chats, you can be on the air daily or weekly. This way when we are all trying to get information about our Satellite Receivers, we could also be using them at the same time!

Those channels make money for E* so I don’t mind their existence so much. But I do wish they'd hide all 5 BTVs for regular residential subs and let us have the DD Demo channel. I agree with Bobby, if Dish has to have all PI channels cram them and all the shopping channels on 2 dedicated transponders max.

Steve,
The FCC says No to "cramming the PI channels." :)
The PI channels are, by rule, supposed to receive exactly the same treatment in bandwidth as the other channels. There is a rather lengthy statement IIRC on how the bandwidth regulations on these channels. Sorry. :)
And the shopping channels PAY for bandwidth.

Lets see, we can not remove PI channels because of FCC, we can not remove BTV and Shopping channels because E* makes money on them, well with the other channels, what is a junk channel we can eliminate? Channels that might be junk for some people are other peoples favorite channels, better be careful when you start wishing that E* drop the junk channels, that junk channel that gets dropped just may be your favorite channel ;) . Personally I like having a large variety of channels to choose from when I sit down to watch tv, yes their are some channels that I watch more then others, but as schedules change my favorites change at times too.

They could still hide (NOT eliminate) the BTV channels from subs. What is the point of watching Herbalife and Prem Rawat? (all of them are BTV programs that are useless. [well, maybe Prem Rawat is not so useless since he is a motovational speaker.] )

Removal of channels is not going to happen. Switching of channels from top100 to top150 and top

Removal of channels is not going to happen anytime soon unless they get restricted on bandwidth on HD/Digital channels. Switching of channels from top100 to top150 and top150 to top100 is not going to happen. Removal of shopping channels is not going to happen.
I like LifeTime Movies.

One more thing I really miss from the DP. The DP had the ability to "unselect" and thus remove a channel from ALL lists.

AND they finally modified so that the little window doesn't change channels every time you try to move to a box to uncheck it.
Don't forget to set up a favorites list to achieve the same effect as what the DPs could do. You could call it "All Tolerable Channels" or something......
