this is the sat to be sea-launched from a floating platform on the pacific ocean, right? no wonder they keep pushing the date back.

Looks like the satellite launch is getting close... you can see all the updates on the site now, look at the current mission.

Yea, I was expecting it late August bust it seems it will be at the beginning of the month instead. Does anyone know how long it takes after launching to obtain geosync orbit?

There is also indications in this Intelsat (who recently acquired the Telstar 13 portion as well as other assets from Loral) press release of an early August launch.
