Will "Joey" pull a "Frasier" or "The Ropers"???

Heh, somehow I don't think Joey can carry a TV show. Frasier could on one hand.

What is this Ropers you talk about. You don't mean the ropers from 3's Company do you? I'm 26, think I would remember that show. But my guess it was short lived.

Yes, "The Ropers" was a spinoff (I think it actually lasted a year) from 3's Company that stared The Landlords before "Mr. Furley". The big problem was that the spinoff failed while 3's company was still on the air and 3's company fans became attached to Don Knotts as "Mr. Furley" so the actors who player "The Ropers" were pretty much left by the wayside.

That is where Kelsey Grammer and the producers were smart, they didn't do the spinoff till Cheers was off the air, so if it did fail, there really was nothing to loose...

It's a good choice for a spinoff if they were going to do one. Leblanc's star is getting bigger with another emmy nomination and his character has become a favorite in recent years. Not sure I see it having the same type of success as "Frasier", but I'll give it a chance

In the early episodes of Friends, Joey had a smaller role on the show. The show focused on Monica, Rachel, Ross and Chandler's datings and relationships. Joey was Chandler's friend and was with the group, but the story never had him lead.

When the cast started getting bigger salaries and equal salaries, I think they had more storylines with Joey.

It makes most sense for Le Blanc to get a spinoff, since his character isnt married, and I think they could do more with him being an actor.

Frasier wasnt an original character of Cheers, but came regular. Though Kelsey Grammer has being player that character now for over 15 years.

Here's a good website for crossover and spinoff shows:
