CBC Televison and CBC Radio broadcast Toronto Rocks, a star studded concert headlined by the Rolling Stones featuring special guests, July 30 at 9 P.M. ET
TORONTO, July 24 /CNW/ - An incredible line-up of Canadian and international artists, headlined by the Rolling Stones, perform at Toronto's Downsview Park in a must-see event on Wednesday, July 30. CBC Television and CBC Radio One present TORONTO ROCKS, a shared event from the site, from 9 to 11 p.m. ET (10 AT, 10:30 Nfld). Radio-Canada will also telecast this two-hour special. CBC Newsworld and RDI will report live from the event throughout the day.
"This is terrific news for Canadians across the country," said Slawko Klymkiw, executive director of network programming for CBC Television. "We are very pleased to be able to take part in what promises to be a great show and a
good public service, and to bring this event to viewers and listeners from coast to coast to coast."
The spectacular musical extravaganza features AC/DC, Rush, the Guess Who, Justin Timberlake, Blue Rodeo, the Tea Party, Sam Roberts, the Flaming Lips, Kathleen Edwards, the Isley Brothers, Sass Jordan with special guest appearance by Jeff Healey, La Chicane, Belushi-Aykroyd & Have Love Will Travel Revue, hosted by Dan Aykroyd.
TORONTO ROCKS will broadcast highlights and live coverage from the full day event with backstage colour and interviews. Ralph Benmergui hosts for CBC Television and Brent Bambury hosts for CBC Radio.
TORONTO ROCKS is produced for CBC Television by René Dowhaniuk and directed by Wayne Moss. Technical producer is Bruce Whiteford. The CBC Radio One broadcast is produced by Cathy Irving and executive producer John Dalton. Fred Nicolaidis is creative head, CBC Television Arts & Entertainment.
