As the third anniversary (or memorial) of 9/11 approaches, what do you think the networks and news channels will do this year? I think there will be some sort of special on it for a few hours, and not much else.

That's a good question! I think *some*, at least (or particularly) on non-broadcast networks (aka "Cable" channels) will go wall to wall with either coverage, silence, or some form of tribute. I would not expect the Big 6 broadcast nets (NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, PBS, UNI) to have wall to wall all day long coverage, but I think I'd expect, at the minimum, a "focus" on the topic throughout the day's normally scheduled programming, and possibly the preemption of lighter fare in favor of more serious news/documentary style shows. And yes, prime time on most of those channels will probably be news & related specials.

One thing they can do is not call it a anniversary. When I think of Anniversary I think of a happy thing, not this.

Another thing, when the original attack happened on 9-11-01, Food Network, HGTV, and (probably) DIY had a title card saying that they suspended regular programming due to the events of that fateful day, and showed nothing. On 9-11-02, they only went off the air during the morning ceremony. (2 hours) This year, ???.

I don't feel the same level of emotion as last year (I had alot of anxiety last year at this time), perhaps the mourning period is over and the recovery period has begun? I really wish they would start re-construction of the site...

Is it time again for the Networks to Ca$h in on this tragedy?
Will Diane Sawyer again line up the all of the babies who never met one of their parents killed in the WTC attack for a 2nd reunion?
I dont think anything speacial is planned. Looking at all the network premeire dates, some of the networks are premeiring shows on Thursday September 11th so I dont think its anything speacial. Maybe just some speacial edition of like Good Morning America and World News Tonight.
