Has anybody used the iScan Duo? What do you think? Will this work just as good as any a/v receiver, from a video standpoint? Will it accept Directv's 1080p 24?

Well what are you trying to achieve exactly?

It should work better than any A/V receiver as it is a dedicated video processor. Anchor Bay is a very good company.

Basically, right now looking for a video receiver. I will deal with audio later.
Speaking of which though, if when I finally do add an actual A/V receiver, can I continue to feed everything through the iScan Duo and into the A/V receiver, and still receiver all the benefits of the iScan Duo?

Why would you want to do this at all. Seeing that you mentioned your going to be getting an A/V receiver at some point, why not just buy one such as from Denon that already incoporates all the features that the "iScan Duo" does for about the same cost you get the entire enchilada ;)

If your interested in models/features/specs and pricing, let me know as I'm a dealer for many lines....

I would get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882120133&cm_re=onkyo_receiver-_-82-120-133-_-Product but it all depends on how much upscaling you want done. The Onkyo's don't have the best upscaler in them but are great receivers especially for the $399 price tag. I have that receiver currently and it was my thought to just use it a couple of months until I decided what I wanted to do permanently. So far though it's fit everything I've wanted.

I've already ordered it, and it's on it's way, and I REALLY do like the video processing it does. I could order an A/V receiver, but do not have enough money for the speakers. Wondering if I can use what I'm currently using for everything? It's a Avia DHT630. 5.1 system, though I wouldn't be able to use the Sub (No biggie). Speakers are 15 watt, 4 ohm. They are terminated with RCA connections, though I would imagine I could just snip those off and have regular speaker connectors? Would this work, until I can, piece by piece, swap out the speakers? I don't need to have a concert here, just some audio. They work fine for everything I do right now.

I take it I should tell my HR20s and Playstation 3 to send everything out in it's native format, and allow the iScan Duo to do all the video processing itself?

Yup, that is what you need to do.
