A few minutes ago (during the BCS championship game), ABC went to the overhead camera (blimp/helicopter) when security had to get (remove) someone off the field. It is live sports on TV, why not just show what is happening?

The networks prefer to not give idiots 10 seconds of fame, thereby encouraging other idiots.

Very good point, not to mention, what if it was a "jihad" type thing and they broadcast some guy blowing himself and others to pieces live on network TV:lol:

Yeah, the chief reason NOT to show people like that are that they are attention seekers... so you don't want to give them their 15 seconds of fame. Better to let them get pounded by security off-camera and no one ever see them dancing around like a fool.

I just got a kick out of hearing Brent Musberger say "idiot". No sugar coating, no nothing. The wife and I were laughing or butts off. Even from the blimp shot you could atleast see where they were chasing him and where they got him. While the whole act is just stupid, the spectacle of it is funny. part of me things they should show where he is caught and getting a beatdown on TV. Maybe that'll help deter more "idiots". I doubt it as I'm sure adult beverages were involved. :p

You are correct. Why should someone get rewarded for breaking the law? Keep these morons off the camera!

Man, I sure hope that wasn't a Bama fan.
I know this is a College Football thread, but the use of cell phones has brought on what to me is a most unwelcome phenomenon at Baseball games. It occurs during the shots from centerfield where you're looking over the pitcher's shoulder to the batter, catcher, and home plate ump. There will be one or more idiots talking to someone on their cell phones to someone watching the game on TV and they will start waving and asking, "Can you see me?", only it doesn't stop when the person on the other end acknowledges that, yes, the caller is indeed on their TV screen. No, the idiot(s) continues waving at 5 second intervals for the remainder of the game, thus becoming an annoyance to those of us just trying to watch the game. The only Sport I see this happen with and, as I said, most unwelcome.
