this applies to dish as well so it is related.

In our community and for many miles in some directions there are only two or three choices for TV: Dish, Direct and sometimes Charter. All engage in many of the forms of deception described the litigation.

Well I do agree about everything not being visible in the same place BEFORE purchase, and in fine print, if it WERE all available and in regular size print, would everybody still read it? I've seen it quite a few times. Some people just do NOT want to take the time to read all the conditions, and then complain when when something happens that they don't understand.

Big Print Small print, your right it wouldn't matter. How many of really read all the EULA, when we registar software? Companies are even forcing you to scroll from top to bottom, before you can select the radio button, and people still power scroll, skipping everything.
Personally I prefer they keep it in fine print, first thing I read is the fine print, as thats were all the gottch cha's are. Keep them in the fine print please, don't make me do real reading.

Having just signed up for Dish Network, then reading the user comments regarding DirecTV, I have to say, Dish Network appears to have treated me quite well. While their practices seem similar, the customer service rep I worked with did a good job of explaining everything so I understood what I was agreeing to. I signed up using their chat system so I have a record of the entire transaction in case there are any questions later. The installer did a great job as well.
So far at least I'm happy about the process. Now to see if I like the service as well.
i really don't get the "i am with sat company x and need to bash on sat company y" posts. if you are with dish, you are doing that because it is better for you, and vice versa for the folks with directv (like me).
that being said . . . (to the OP), is there really a point in putting this in the dish forum?

And why do you feel the need to weigh in on a Dish forum if you're a D* customer? lol
And why do you feel the need to weigh in on a Dish forum if you're a D* customer? lol
because i am always curious to see what dish has to offer, i infrequently come by and take a peek. fact is this, i am a directv customer because it currently is the best product that fits my needs. how am i to know if that is actually true, unless i keep an eye on the competing technologies?
i mean seriously, just because you own a ford, does that mean you can't look to see what GM is releasing in their new line of vehicles?
that being said, in any given forum when i see what i feel is a worthless post . . . i will respond and give my opinion. i would have said the same thing in the directv forum if i saw a post where people are bashing on dish in an similar manner.
if the OP wants to debate the validity of directv, by all means do it . . . but why not take it to the correct forum?

I think Salti's comments were directed to the OP.
Good point, dhines.

I am a Dsih subscriber, but have to agree that there are similar marketing programs all over. I don't think this is unique to the satellite ot cable industry either....look at cell phones for example...a lot of deceiving advertising there too.
