They are selling generic dishes on ebay that they claim can be used with Directv and Dish Network.. Will these dishes work with Dish Network's 61.5 Satellite, and most importantly, will they work transmitting HDTV.. I find it difficult to believe that these one LNB's work with both systems. I know I will at least need the SW21 switch, but my goal is to try to find the most inexpensive option for HDTV to hold me over until I can get the SuperDish, and at less than 30, these will work.

Any information would be appreciated.

Yes you CAN use any one of those generic E*/D* dishes to receive signals from 61.5. You just have to make sure the LNB you buy does NOT have a switch built into it. So to be safe (and also to save the most money), buy the single lnb (or dual lnb if single is not available). Also you'll need an SW21 to connect the output of the 61.5 and the output of the 110/119 together. Then connect the SW21 to ur receiver, run a switchtest, and now you're watching HDTV!

I originally had DirectTV and now have dish. I used the single D dish for my 61.5 dish and bought a dual lnb Dish dish for the regular feed. Works great with the sw21 switch.

Dish Network and DirecTv dishes are compatable with each other as long as there are no switches built in the lnbf's or attached.

The dish at 119 has to be a single satellite dish, if you do not have a Dish500. With Dish a Dish 500, it has to have either a Legacy Twin, Legacy Quad, and SW42 or an SW44. If the Dish500 already uses an SW21, you will need to replace the Dish 500 SW21(s) with an SW42 or and SW44.

There is a new switch made by Microyal called an SW21-x, which is electronically similar to 1/2 of an SW21.

Here is a link to it as sold on Ebay:
