VS and Dish

I'm being told that 'in a few months dish will lose Versus as well' due to Comcast trying to screw the sat companies.

Can anyone clarify this? i thought DIsh just signed a new contract with versus?

This is an enormous issue for me. I am a mixed martial arts fighter, and I live for the sport. the UFC just signed a new deal and will be showing free events on Versus, and the WEC is exclusive to VS. so if we lose that network, I'm definitely bailing.

Well, I have been told that the world is ending in 2012, but...
Not sure when the Dish/Vs contract is up, but I can't see it being done in the next year.

truth is I don't believe it. the person saying this is an employee of DirecTV. But instead of just blurting out uneducated arguments I was hoping i could get some real evidence of it being wrong. I searched google but couldn't find anything.

I can't think of a better way than having Versus disappear from Dish to bury in regulatory controversy the Comcast/GE deal on NBCU.

With Comcast trying to get approval of the NBC deal I think they will be very careful about throwing the weight around. It would be really stupid at the same time they are telling the FCC, Justice, and anyone else who will listen that they won't be anti-competitive.
