I have a dish 500. In the past I have gotten pretty strong readings on 119, well over 100. For the past couple of months I have been getting dropouts. Signal goes from 100 to 0.

I thought that to dish might be a little loose after all of the strong winds that we have had lately, so I resecured it, tighted all nuts, bolts..... The strongest signal that I can tune into is about 75, but then a couple of times an hour I still loose signal.

On the 110 I am still getting rock soild readings of over 100. There is a tree that is about 25 feet taller that the dish but it is over 75 feet away. 119 is higher in the sky than 110 is it not??

Could it be the LNB??? Any suggestions.

Do you lose signal more often after it rains? Or is it normal to happen no matter what the conditions are?

If your signal is going out after rain or high humidity then chances are you have something wrong at the connection for the 119 satellite LNB, some kind of moisture is getting in.

If you think its the LNB you can always swap the lnb from 110 to 119 and put the 119 LNB on 110. (unless this is one of those LNB's such as a twin where things are connected together) If the problem still happens on 119 after the swap then its not the LNB. :) Possibly cable or connection or tree blowing.

110 is a higher elevation than 119 usually only a few degrees. Go to menu 6=1=1 then input your zip code you should be able to bring up an elevation angle for each satellite.

You may also want to check the lot number on the label of the twin LNB, if that's the one you have. Anything with the stock number "CCS9601" has been recalled by DISH. We've had many recalled lately in our area (Louisiana) as dropouts occur during high heat conditions.
