I was looking at the SWM-8. It looks like it has the same inputs as my Zinwell 6x8.

Is it possible to turn my Phase III into a SWM? Man that would make things much easier. My house is pre-wired with with single RG-6. I pulled a dual RG6 to the living room but would love a DVR in another room(s) easily.

Regular 18" dish, Phase II, Phase II Plus, Phase III, AT-9, Au-9 5 LNB, and Au-9 3 LNB ALL work with the SWM module.

Yes, it will work fine.

HOWEVER, keep in mind that you may have older, non-SWM-compatible receivers.

SWM only works with the following:

- D12 (and newer)
- R16/R22 (and newer)
- H2x
- HR2x

So, R15s, DirecTiVos and such will not work with a SWM feed.

They will, however, work on the legacy ports of the SWM8 module.

But not as a single wire solution - still need 2 coax from legacy ports to a DVR. There are only 3 legacy ports, so you could feed a total of 3 tuners (each with it's own coax) from them.

And you won't get the Ka/Ku sats with anything less than a Slimline.

Great! I can run my R15 on the legacy ports then H2x on the others! Now to find one...Thanks everyone!

You'll still need to run 2 lines to that R15 though.

Feeding the H2x from the Phase III dish will not get you any HD on it, just to make sure you know that. You need a slimline for HD.

Cool. I can easily get 2 lines to the R15. I know I cant get the HDs without the slimline.

Thanks everyone!
